One year ago I (Dave) cleaned out my office, turned in my work PC and stepped into retirement. I had worked in some way or another for 42 years so there were some concerns around the changes that were coming.

One year later I can report I have survived and thrived. My health feels much better than when I was working. Financially there has been a lack of monthly income, inflation, and a stock market crash, but so far nothing has changed our plans. Most importantly I have not driven Diane crazy, although we had a couple pandemic years where I worked from home as practice.

Best of all we got to really travel this year with our ideal approach. Take our time, enjoy the journey, and visit fun and interesting places. 3 weeks in Kauai, 4 weeks through Utah and Colorado, 8 weeks in Spain, 2 weeks in Sweden, and a 3 week California Pacific Coast Highway trip. We also did some family visits and local trips. That equates to roughly half the year travelling and the other half planning travel.

And as to the future we plan travel, travel, then travel some more.
Year one was a success, looking forward to year two!!
